Drinking a good amount of water is essential yet not so easy for everybody. Water is an essential component of our body, and it is crucial to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Drinking water has numerous benefits that can help improve your overall well-being. I love drinking water and thankfully manage to drink at least 2 liters of it daily.
However I am here to encourage the rest of you to do the same – especially those who struggle with it. So here is my main tip on how to drink more water – water drinking challenge. Some of the best water bottles are very handy.
In this article I will give you some fun and easy tips on how to drink enough water daily. Challenging yourself can be very good for your discipline about which I will explain more in the beginning of this article. Here are 5 reasons why you need a water bottle.
Always time for a healthy challenge
It’s good to remember that in life the only person you should be competing with is yourself. That is a good message to remember and keep with yourself at all times.
In my experience there are plenty of benefits to regularly throwing a little challenge your way. Here’s an example of challenges I throw myself into quite regularly.
I love the idea of being healthy and doing anything to improve that on a daily basis. But sometimes life gets in the way, we get busy, forget to eat healthy, go on longer walks etc. So it’s good to challenge yourself to do a healthy habit for at least a week. Not so long ago I challenged myself to walk at least 10 000 steps every day. The first few days were hard but by the fourth one I felt amazing!
What will start off as a challenge can become your habit. The same goes for drinking enough water. If you really want to take care of your body and mind, something as simple as drinking enough water can really do wonders.
Water drinking challenge
Now we all know that drinking water is super important. Yet that’s not enough to actually succeed at the challenge. So here are my tips on how to last at least a week of healthy hydration.
Set a goal
Drinking 2 liters of water can be very optimistic if you on average drink less than a liter per day. Start slow – maybe you can drink a liter per day, later a liter and a half. And then let’s see how fast we can get to drinking 2 liters of water daily.
The most important thing to do is to have a goal to achieve. Set up a goal of the amount of water you will drink for one week, then enhance your goal. Slowly but surely you should make some progress.
Set up reminders
For many of us the only reason we don’t drink enough water is poor memory. We simply forget and suddenly the day has flown by! To fix that you can download a water drinking application to your computer or mobile phone. Drinking water makes it easier to concentrate and you will improve your memory as well.
There are many different applications available for smartphones and computers that remind you to drink water and help control the amount of water you drink. Some of these modern apps will even give you rewards for completing daily goals. How fun is that?
A water bottle by your desk can also be an amazing reminder to drink water. My first water bottle ever was an EQUA one. It is perfect for setting it up on your work desk and drinking water during the day at work. Read my full review in the article My EQUA water bottle review.
Find fun ways to drink water
Water doesn’t have to be boring. You can find some fun ways to drink your water and forget that you’re drinking simple water. One way to do so is to enhance the flavor. Add fruits and berries to your water, that way it will smell and taste fresh and yummy.
If you don’t want to waste fruit like that there is an amazing brand called Waterdrop that makes drinking water fun. They compress all the fruits and veggies into these small tablets that dissolve in the water giving it fun coloring and taste. And all that with no added sugar. I found out about them from the article Sustainable hydration – Waterdrop Microdrinks. Check it out!
And another tip in this category would be using a straw. It is such a simple hack but has become very effective for me. There is just something about drinking water with a straw that feels satisfying and more special.
Don’t give up
Lastly, remember that you are doing this for yourself. It might be hard for you to drink the right amount of water but also remember to listen to your body. Remember to drink when you are thirsty. Simply make sure you take a few sips of water every hour or so.
Water helps regulate your body temperature by keeping you hydrated. It helps you sweat, which cools down your body and prevents overheating. It helps flush out toxins from your body, which can help prevent kidney stones and other health problems.

It can help boost your immune system by flushing out harmful toxins and bacteria from your body. It can help you lose weight by reducing your appetite and increasing your metabolism. Staying hydrated can help improve cognitive function, including memory, attention, and reaction time.
Dehydration can cause headaches, fatigue, and other health problems. Drinking enough water can help prevent dehydration and keep you feeling energized throughout the day.
