Since this is my personal blog, I want to write about the things that are going on in my life. So I am here to admit that I am a smoker and have recently switched (no pun intended) to Salt Switch.
First things first, Salt Switch is a product that contains nicotine which is a highly addictive substance. Now that we can move past the disclaimer, here’s my experience on the Salt Switch. I’ll do my best to tell you what it is and how it works.
What are Salts Switches?
Salt Switch is a disposable pod device that lets you smoke whenever. One product has 450 puffs in it and once you’re done, you throw it out. They are definitely more costly than cigarettes, but it honestly depends on how much you use it.
I’ve never been one to go through a pack per day so one Salt Switch lasts me 1-2 weeks. I have friends for whom it only lasts 2 days. That is super individual. A con that I could mention is that you have to have self control. The pod doesn’t tell you when you’d have enough – that is totally on you. That’s why the times it can possibly last for you are so different for everyone.
A pro of them is the various flavors they have. You can get a Salt Switch in 16 flavors or should I say – scents. They have mango, mint, grapes, apples, strawberries, banana and so many more. I haven’t tried many yet but I’m excited to!
The ritual of smoking
For me it’s always been about the ritual of smoking. The idea of taking a break during your work or anything else. About going outside, having a smoke and just forgetting about everything for those 5 minutes.
Although cigarettes are how I started smoking and I still have an occasional one here and there, they do have some cons that Salt Switches don’t. Let me be very clear – I am fully aware of how unhealthy they BOTH are therefore I won’t mention it. But the other flaw that is very visible in smoking is the smell.
The smell of cigarettes in your mouth and on your fingers (even clothes and hair) is not something you want to be known for. That’s definitely a big turn off.
So I was pretty stoked to find out that Salt Switches do not have that horrible tobacco smell to them. And I still get to experience my smoking ritual.
Is Salt Switch more wasteful than cigarettes?
A concern that has been brought up to me by my friends is that isn’t the Salt Switch a super wasteful product?
They’re right in a way. You smoke it and after 450 puffs it’s done. However it’s not like cigarettes just disappear when we smoke them, right?
When we think about cigarettes, there’s waste from cigarette bums and the packaging. Cigarette bums definitely pile up into a huge waste pile. With a Switch it’s a bit more discrete – the packaging is smaller and thinner, while the main pod can be taken back to the sellers to have them recycled.
So to add up, it is definitely wasteful but so many other things are too. I am enjoying using the Salt Switch for now. We will see how it goes in the long run.
